Questions on me and my answers

Q: How did you come up with your online names, HighStrike300 and Perhaptation?

A: For HighStrike300... it is just meaningless... I just wanted a very cool nickname when I was young, and I used that. For Perhaptation... Perhaptation is a combination of Perhaps and suffix -tation. I am a guy that think everything has a probability, so I used this as my second nickname.

Q: What is your current location?

A: For this... I would like to keep it secret beyond nationality.

Q: How often are you online?

A: As a computer enthusiast... I would like to answer that I am almost online at every moment, except for the hours of sleeping. Feel free contacting me >:D

Q: What made you choose Neocities over just making a site from scratch with a domain of your own?

A: There are two reasons. The first one is because Neocities is free! you can build your site without buying a domain and a server, and you don't have to do complicated things after that. The second one is more important, it is nostalgic and you can meet a lot of fun people on the Internet! The Internet is connecting us forever, and Neocities offers this kind of feeling.

Q: Why do you hate social media?

A: One of the reasons I hate social media is its recommendation algorithm. It locks us in filter bubbles and prevents us from truly understanding the world. Another reason is that the features it offers are ultimately limited; I can’t be creative here to build a space that truly belongs to me.

Q: What does ICPC mean to you? After several defeats, how do you see competitive programming now?

A: ICPC... It is one of the highest and hardest programming contests for elites. For me, I see ICPC as a huge puzzle game, a competitive mind sport, and an approach to dive into computer algorithmic principle. After the post-AI era, when AI can solve every problem better than all the contestants, the meaning of ICPC is not reduced as AlphaGo didn't ruin the Go sport. It can develop our general skills like teamwork and critical thinking, and more than that, it is fun! I see CP as a game, a huge game which you can get prize and probably benefit future job hunting, but after all, I see it as a game. CP will continue existing as long as there are still CP lovers, just like other games and sports. Also, I see CP as a way to make up for my regret over failing the Gaokao, one of the most important exams for me in my lifetime. For the second question... I think I have already answered it.

Q: What is your favorite game, generally?

A: This is a question that very hard to answer. I think every game has its charm, so it is almost impossible to pick one best from all of the games I have played.

Q: You enjoy going out alone and exploring old websites. What are you looking for in those moments—and do you ever find it?

A: For going out alone... I think it is a good approach to explore the world! I can see the miracles created by Mother Nature and the power of humanity. Also, every hike is a new exploration - the world is large, and there is always somewhere we have never stepped into. For the exploring old websites... I think it is pretty fun to see the history of one of the greatest inventions, the Internet, and we can see the advance of Internet by doing this. Also, what's the most important, there is some hidden gems and treasure inside the sea of the entire Internet, especially the places almost no one has visited in the recent time! Also, sometimes it brings some inspirations! Also, the Internet is like the world, it is huge! Exploring it will help us learn about the history of the past forty years. For what I am looking for in those moments... It is simply random. Sometimes I can find it, while sometimes I can't.

Q: Why do you like mouse maze games, an extremely-niche game genre?

A: In fact, I like the feeling of controlling something extremely precisely! Mouse maze game gave me this feeling, so I founded Precision Laboratory. After that, I would like to say that it offers a feeling of mystery - you never know what surprise did the author design before completing the previous - this happens in every game, but in mouse maze games, it will offer more surprise on me!

Q: What is Precision Laboratory?

A: Precision Laboratory is a community that fosters mouse maze extreme difficulty challenge. Founded by me, it collected more than 70 mouse maze games, with very strict selecting and critical difficulty rating system, letting you grow from mouse maze newbie to expert. In the community, you can discuss mouse maze gameplay and creations! Also, RLP (My Mouse Maze Game) is also a topic.

Q: What game engine do you use?

A: Godot, because of it is easy to use, and it is free, open-source. Also... Can PPT be a game engine? if so, yes, PPT.

Q: Why do you like PPT?

A: PPT... I like designing things. However, now, because AI can generate epic and perfect slideshows, I seldom use it for making presentations now. Currently, I use PPT mainly for designing PPT mouse maze games I want to make, and as my Godot game designing draft paper. The visual design of TEDNE and RLP, and one of my future project, Realitia, are finished in PowerPoint.

Q: What is Realitia?

A: It is a rhythm game made by me. Continuing the designing style of Re: Labyrinth Patterns, it mixed clicking rhythm game (osu!std), mouse maze, and bullet hell (Touhou Project). It is a mouse-only rhythm game. Currently, it is under construction, but now the chart editor is open.

Q: What is the biggest influence of AI in your lifetime?

A: It is a heavy question. Perhaps... It reduced my willingness to create new things that I want to create in some aspects, by a little bit. I am always astonished by the things created by AI on its technique and creativity... but it gradually make me ruminate on the meaning of creating my own things. However, I decided to build a personal website... as a free space to express myself. A personal experience and expression can never be replaced by AI... at least for now.

Q: When AI can generate anything we want with one click, what is the meaning of our creation?

A: Perhaps... the invention of the loom did not make handmade clothes obsolete; even if sometimes they are not as exquisite and confortable, they are still loved by some people.

Q: Do you think AI will replace software and computer engineers?

A: I think this is the hardest question to answer.
